BELMOPAN, Belize, CMC – The Belize government has condemned the behaviour of a woman reveller at the just concluded annual Carnival Road March who was seen on video dancing lewdly with a little boy.
The video has gone viral and has drawn heavy criticism from the public and in a statement, the Ministry of Human Development and the National Committee for Families and Children (NCFC) also condemned the action.
“The Ministry of Human Development, Families and Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs and the National Commission for Families and Children unequivocally decry and condemn the recent inappropriate public display of a sexual nature involving a woman and a child.
It said it would be seeking “legal advice on how to proceed with this matter” insisting “we stand firm in our commitment to protect children from any form of exploitation, including this most inappropriate exposure.
“We remain steadfast in our dedication to creating safe and respectful environments for children,” the NCFC added.
Commissioner of Police Chester Williams has also condemned the reprehensible act.
