PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Two brothers were shot and killed outside a childcare learning centre in Morvant, east of here on Monday.
Police said that gunmen had been awaiting outside the Roxann’s Learning and Childcare Centre, shooting indiscriminately, resulting in the death of Gerald Caliste at the scene and his brother Kemo Caliste, who later died at hospital.
Police said that a four-year-old boy, Dimitri Berkley, said to be the child of a female police officer, was also injured as well as Adina Jackson, 48, and Joseph Coulen.
Police said that Gerald Caliste was the target of the shooting and that the attack has been connected to the ongoing gang war across Port of Spain.
