After capturing 37 medals in the pool over the Easter weekend in the Bahamas, Barbados’ CARIFTA Swimming team returned home Thursday night.
Family and friends gathered at the Grantley Adams International Airport to congratulate the Barbados team, which won 15 Gold, 15 Silver and 7 Bronze to finish fifth overall on the medal table.
Heidi Stoute, who etched her name in history by establishing four new CARIFTA records, told CBC Sports she is elated with her individual performance.
13 to 14 Girls age group winner, Jaiya Simmons, was also over the moon after winning 12 medals inclusive of 7 Golds.
