The young Bajan Gems - the Barbados under -16 team are 2019 Jean Pierre youth netball champions.
In their final assignment on Thursday night, the young gems defeated St. Lucia 29-25.
But it was not an easy game as the first three quarters were tied at 5-5, 13-13, 18-18 before Barbados made it count when it mattered most.
That win left Barbados with an unbeaten record in the tournament that was played in Antigua.
The young gems left with the lion share of awards - best goal average, best defensive team, third place in the shooting competition and best uniformed team. The Barbados MVP was shooter Shonica Griffith.
Six of the young gems made the top 16 players in the tournament - Kimani Archer, Shonica Griffith, Vivica Addison, Rhashan Hunte (co captain), Sumara Benn and Tenielle Chapman-Goodluck.
The team returns home Friday.
