The University of the West Indies is taking all steps to ensure its staff, programmes and campuses have been accredited.

Vice chancellor, Professor Sir Hilary Beckles says, staff positions are advertised globally, and as such the University screens all applicants carefully.

Thanks to that system, he says they've spotted people who in the past tried to present false qualifications and documents.

His comments come in the wake of the ongoing scandal with the offshore Washington University of Barbados, operating at the Casa Grande Hotel.

Meanwhile, UWI Cave Hill campus pro vice chancellor and principal, Professor Eudine Barriteau says the campus takes its reputation seriously.
