Long lines at the Barbados Licensing Authority could soon be a thing of the past as the Ministry of Transport considers adopting an appointment style system at the essential department.
According to Minister Michael Lashley, the matter is being worked on by the chief licensing officer.
He made the revelation during his wrap up of debate Road Traffic Bill in parliament.
Discussions are also underway with the data processing department to move towards the payment of licenses and other provisions under the Road Traffic Act online.
Given the large number of vehicles on the nation's roads, Mr Lashley says the powers of traffic inspectors will have to be increased.
The bill was later passed and cited the Road Traffic Amendment Act.
