Janette Callender is the island's newest centenarian.
She celebrated her birthday Monday evening surrounded by family, friends and loved ones at the Christ Church Parish Centre.
Ms. Callender has four children, two daughters and two sons.
She has nine grands and sixteen great grandchildren.
One of her daughters Pamela Williams says she worked as a seamstress before she went to England in the 1960's.
She returned to Barbados in 1989.
The centenarian is a devoted member of the St. Bartholomew Church.
