Narice Thorpe is the first winner of the COSCAP Jackie Opel Scholarship.
The announcement was made today at the institution's Belleville headquarters.
Ms. Thorpe received full tuition for the Barbados Community College's associates degree in music.
Calypsonian Mr. Blood presented her with the check.
COSCAP CEO Erica Smith says the scholarship was created because of Jackie Opel's influence and position in the Barbadian music landscape.
