The official visit of the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo has started.
The President's plane arrived at the Grantley Adams International Airport about 10:30 Friday morning where he and his delegation received a red carpet welcome.
He was greeted by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Erwin Boyce and Chief of Staff of The Barbados Defence Force, Colonel Glyne Grannum.
This was followed by a 21 gun salute, before President Akufo-Addo accompanied by Prime Minister Mottley, inspected the troops assembled on the tarmac.
The Barbados Defence Force and Cadet Corps mass band then performed the Ghanaian national anthem before the dignitaries proceeded indoors for a private meeting in the airport's Grace Adams Suite.
