A security guard onboard a party vessel is dead after he was shot on Monday night.
Police say the shooting incident unfolded around 25-minutes-to-11 when the vessel, the MV Dream Chaser on its way back from a cruise was preparing to dock.
Reports are there was a scuffle among patrons which security of the vessel broke up.
When the vessel docked, some patrons disembarked and tried to re-enter.
That's when a fresh scuffle ensued between patrons and security preventing them from getting back onboard.
Police say a single shot was heard and Dave Archer fell to the ground.
The 32 year old had lived in West Terrace, St James.
Emergency personnel were summoned and Archer taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he subsequently died.
