Barbados addressing EU blacklisting

Barbados addressing EU blacklisting
15 Mar

Minister of International Business Ronald Toppin says government is aware of the EU's recent blacklisting of Barbados, noting that they are addressing the matter appropriately.

The minister gave the reminder that Barbados recently converged its domestic and international corporate tax rates to a range between 5.5 percent and 1 percent.

He adds that he is therefore sure that Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mia Amor Mottley will have much to say on the matter on Wednesday during the much-expected budgetary debate.

Minister Toppin says Barbados' actions remain transparent, as the country has already been deemed compliant by the OECD, which is the globally recognized body for the setting and monitoring of international tax standards.
