The increasing weight of vehicles along with the large number of utility openings is contributing to the deterioration of Barbados roads.
So says Minister in the Ministry of Transport, Works and Maintenance, Peter Philips.
He was at the time addressing the first Consultation on Domestic Transport.
Mr Philips says the country must do a better job of maintaining its roads.
Philips says the inland’s transport plays a major role in the economic and social development of Barbados as some 30 thousand commuters, including school children and pensioners are transported across the island daily.
