Twenty-four Barbadians with MBBS degrees and one Dominican whose home hospital was devastated were selected from the forty-nine applications for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital's professional internship programme.
The QEH provides the programme for newly graduated medical doctors and it comprises of three month rotations in medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics and surgery. During the programme, the interns are continuously assessed with the best selected as intern of the year.
Dr. Simone Evelyn was the top intern of 2016-2017 and while congratulating the interns, she shared her secret to success.
Internship coordinator Dr. Clyde Cave welcomed the new interns to what he called the hard part of their career.
