Changes to Barbados' public service vehicle routes are on the horizon.
Word of this as the Association of Public Transport Operators and the Alliance Owners of Public Transport had their first meeting with Minister of Transport, Works and Maintenance, Dr. William Duguid at the Ministry's headquarters Wednesday.
In a statement, the Ministry revealed that routes must be changed, to meet the demands of commuters.
This is to address the issue where some routes are serviced by numerous public service vehicles while others get very little service.
During the talks, Minister Duguid stated that the Ministry "wants to bring equity and fairness and help people get around Barbados fairly without having to wait hours."
He also gave members of APTO and AOPT the assurance that the Constitution River Terminal will soon be commissioned, staffed and that activities there will commence soon.
