Crimestoppers want students to "Cool Yuh Head”

Crimestoppers Barbados is concerned about the level of violence being seen in schools across the island.

Chairman Oral Reid says he is in favour of police being called into schools to assist with conducting random checks.

Mr. Reid says they have been trying to tackle the issue of violence within secondary schools over the last five years through their "Cool Yuh Head” programme.

He says they are currently in twenty schools and the programme is being funded by the Sandy Lane Charitable Trust.

Mr Reid says they want to extend the programme to primary schools and will need the assistance of corporate Barbados.
