The Christ Church West community is now tsunami ready.
It officially received the designation yesterday during a ceremony at the Savannah Hotel.
In delivering the featured remarks Deputy Permanent Secretary Curtis Gilkes called it a practical real-life example of disaster resilience in action, and also outlined what it means to become tsunami ready.
Mr. Gilkes says the goal now is to be sustainable.
Manager of the International Tsunami Information Centre Caribbean Office Christa Von Hillebrandt-Andrade thanked those involved for assisting in getting closer to their goal of getting all communities tsunami ready.
