A shareholders meeting for LIAT will be held in Barbados soon.
Prime Minister Mia Mottley says this is necessary to deal with the issues which have long been plaguing the regional carrier.
Barbados is a majority shareholder in LIAT with a 49.5 percent stake in the carrier.
The other major shareholders are Antigua and Barbuda, St Vincent and the Grenadines and Dominica.
Ms. Mottley was speaking to CBC News at the end of the just concluded 39th Caricom Heads of Government meeting in Jamaica.
Ms. Mottley says the people of the region deserve to have the problems with LIAT resolved.
She says without transport there can be no Caricom single market.
