Telecommunications company Flow is laying off workers.
In a statement issued Wednesday the company says it streamlining its structure and a number of positions will be impacted.
The statement did not indicate how many people will be sent home or from which departments.
The company adds that it is committed to building a more effective team structure to deliver the best products and services to Barbados.
It also notes that the move is part of a strategic approach to transform the business to a more customer centric, high performing organisation.
It is to this end that the company says it is making adjustments to how the business is run.
This includes carrying out necessary network upgrades, placing more focus on training and development, and improving back office support to better serve customers.
