A network of Caribbean Chambers of Commerce (CARICHAM) has been launched right here in Barbados.
The network is made up of sixteen Chambers of Commerce from across the region.
One of its main objectives is to promote trade and investment opportunities in the Caribbean and with other international trading partners.
Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Trade Sandra Husbands is confident that the network will be able to shape and improve how the Caribbean Single Market and Economy will work.
Executive Director of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry Carlos Wharton says outside of just business, the grouping will be looking at cooperation in the area of disaster risk reduction.
