The Ministry of Transport, Works and Maintenance's road rehabilitation programme has officially started.
Wednesday morning, a team headed by Minister in the Ministry Peter Phillips, took a visiting representative of the Inter-American Development Bank on a tour of a section of the highway to be repaired.
Five roads will be rehabilitated.
Three phases of the Charles Duncan O'Neal Highway, West Road to Sir Frank Worrell roundabout and the Norman Niles roundabout to the Clyde Walcott roundabout.
The programme is being funded by a $50 million dollar IADB loan.
