President of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry Eddie Abed says the mood in the local business community has started to change with the uncertainty surrounding the recent general election now passed.
Mr. Abed says uncertainty is always damaging to business, but they are optimistic going forward as more information is being revealed on the country's economic situation and as the new economic plans are put in place.
Meanwhile the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Barbados Investment Development Corporation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, aimed at mutual cooperation in areas such as training and resource cooperation, among others.
The two entities signed the MOU at the BIDC's offices, with Chief Executive Officer Sonja Trotman representing the BIDC and BCCI President Eddy Abed representing the Chamber.
Mrs. Trotman spoke about the importance of the signing, noting that the BIDC and the Chamber have been in discussion on mutual areas for some time prior to the signing.
Mr. Abed says the signing will also assist the Chamber in its work. It's initially a two-year agreement with a review clause.
