CMC – The newly appointed President of the twin island republic, Christine Kangaloo has been conferred with the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (ORTT).
The President was awarded the country’s highest national award at a simple ceremony at President’s House on Thursday.
The ORTT was presented by Chief Justice Ivor Archie.
Archie explained that the President receives the national award by convention and by virtue of being the Chancellor of the Distinguished Society of Trinidad and Tobago, the Order to which all National Award recipients belong.
Witnessing the presentation was President Kangaloo’s husband His Excellency Kerwyn Garcia and Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley.
