More policies to protect the elderly

Legislation is being drafted to protect the elderly from being cheated out of their money among other things.

Word of this from the former Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Cynthia Forde. Without going into greater detail, she indicated that for the full package to work there is a need for more training to deal with the concerns of a growing aging population. Miss Forde was standing in for her successor, Minister Kirk Humphrey, in addressing the church service of the Barbados Alzheimer’s Association as it marks World Alzheimer’s Month.
