There are good signs for tourism coming out of the US market over the next few months.
Tourism and International Transport Minister, Ian Gooding-Edghill gave an update on the sidelines of Caribbean Week, a forum for tourism players hosted in New York by the Caribbean Tourism Organisation.
He’s reporting an increase in the number of daily flights out of the US, particularly Miami during the summer.
The Tourism Minister is also confirming daily American Airlines flights coming out of Charlotte, North Carolina resuming December 21.
This is a significant improvement from the current weekly service and is expected to continue up to April next year, with some minor adjustments to the schedule in 2024.
He also gave details on service regarding other carriers.
Minister Gooding-Edghill also revealed big news regarding the Wyndham Hotel, set to open its doors to visitors later this year.
He reports the resort, which will be located on the property of the old Sam Lords Castle, will be the flagship for the hotel chain in the Caribbean and Latin America.
