While recognising the importance of tourism to the country, Minister of Tourism and International Transport Ian Gooding Edghill wants the island to create a model that is sustainable.
He says it must protect Barbados’ cultural heritage, livelihoods and economy.
Minister Gooding-Edghill speaking as the island marks World Tourism Day says Barbados recognises the strides made by the country and Government.
He further called for tourism partners to continue to collaborate and work together to advance the industry and take it forward.
World Tourism Day is being held under the theme: Tourism and Green Investments.
