As Barbados presses for the establishment of a new fund to assist climate vulnerable countries, Special Envoy to the Prime Minister of Barbados on Climate Finance, Professor Avinash Persaud says it’s not only small island developing states that are deemed vulnerable.
He says a fund that does not make Pakistan and Libya eligible is not a fund worth having.
Professor Persaud was contributing to a Ministerial Consultation on Funding Arrangements for Responding to Loss and Damage in New York.
He says all developing countries that are suffering significant cost from climate change should be included.
