Barbados intends to do whatever it takes to avoid being blacklisted or under any monitoring programme again.

That assurance from The Most Honourable Senator Reginald Farley, Chairman of the Anti-Money Laundering Network and President of the Senate.

Senator Farley was addressing the Compliance Unit’s Regional Conference 2024, taking place at the Wyndham Grand Barbados.

Mr Farley said the next mutual evaluation for Barbados by the Financial Action Task Force is scheduled for June 2027.

As a consequence, he said, they are working on a three-year plan to ensure a positive outcome to the evaluation.

He noted that during that period, education programmes will be arranged for all stakeholders and several reviews done, including relevant legislation.
