PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC Two earthquakes, including one with a magnitude of 5.1, rocked the Trinidad and Tobago capital on Monday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injury.

The Seismic Research Centre (SRC) of the St. Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) said that the stronger of the two earthquakes was felt at 8.21 am (local time) and was located at Latitude: 10.98N, Longitude: 62.42W and at a depth of 71 kilometres (km).

It said it was felt in Port of Spain, 107 km at west-north wrest and Arima at 132 km, west-north-west.

The quake was also felt in Carúpano, Venezuela, 96 km, northeast.

The other tremor occurred at 3:38 am (local time) and had a magnitude of 3.6. The SRC said that it was located at Latitude: 10.98N, Longitude: 62.64W at a depth of 56 km

It was felt in Port of Spain at 130 km, west north-west, and east of  Porlamar in Venezuela at 134 km.

The two earthquakes followed the magnitude 4.0 on Saturday at 11.22 pm (local time) which was also felt in the neighbouring cities of Castries in St. Lucia, Fort-de-France in Martinique and Bridgetown, Barbados.
