Barbadians encouraged to join Toastmasters

Barbadians who want to develop communication and leadership skills are being encouraged to join one of the Toastmasters Clubs on the island.

Shirleen Haynes of the Toastmasters Association says members of the clubs are assigned roles that help to develop their communication and leadership skills.

Ms. Haynes was speaking at Calvary Moravian Church where Toastmasters joined the congregation in worship.

Toastmasters International will be celebrating its 100th anniversary on October 22.

There are approximately 280 thousand members in 149 clubs worldwide.
