September 28, 2024

Former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has announced his retirement from all formats of cricket, after his farewell CPL season was interrupted due to injury.

The Trinidad and Tobago all-rounder suffered a groin injury playing against St. Lucia Kings at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad on Tuesday.

He had already retired from international cricket and the IPL.

40-year-old Bravo, is the leading T20 wicket-taker in history, as he finishes with 631 wickets from 582 appearances.

In an 18-year career, Bravo is also a two-time world champion with the West Indies, while he was the most decorated player in CPL history, having won five titles in all, including three with TKR.

He had previously called time on his international career in 2021, and stepped away from the Indian Premier League last year, as he began to move into coaching.

In the last year, he has worked with his IPL side Chennai Super Kings, and was appointed as Afghanistan’s bowling consultant for this year’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA.
