The Alexandra School closed early today.
This was stated in a press release from the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training.
The Barbados Police Service confirmed to CBC News that they are investigating reports of a stabbing incident there.
The full statement from the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training follows:
“An incident at the Alexandra School resulted in a student receiving an injury. The injured party was taken to receive medical attention, and the police were called to assist with the matter.
“The school was closed at 2 pm to allow for a complete investigation, and the matter now resides with the police.
“The Ministry will continue to monitor their progress, of the student and will provide the necessary support services to the students, teachers and staff of the Alexandra School.”
