A five-wicket haul from Rahkeem Cornwall and another sensational half-century from Quinton de Kock powered Barbados Royals to a commanding nine-wicket victory last night over the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, as they cruised into the playoffs of the 2024 Republic Bank CPL.

Sent into bat at Kensington Oval, the Patriots – who are bottom of the table – were reduced to 57 for five at one stage before recovering to 110 all out in 19.1 overs.

Player of the Match Cornwall snapped up 5-16, while Naveen-UL-haq took 3-21.

Captain Andre Fletcher top scored with 32.

In reply opener de Kock blazed an unbeaten 59 of 38 inclusive of 3-fours and 4-sixes.

He shared in a 57-run opening stand with Kadeem Alleyne who made 25 off 15.

Alick Athanaze helped ease the hosts to the win with a patient 22 not out-in their final home game.

The Royals, are on top of the standings with 10 points, having lost just one of their six matches.

Today will see the first match of the Trinidad and Tobago leg, and it’s a key game between hosts Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Both teams are on six points, and the winner could go into 2nd place ahead of St. Lucia Kings.

Play is set to start at 7 p.m. live on MCTV’s Sportsmax channel 310, while it’ll also be shown tape-delayed on CBC tv8 from 8:03 p.m.
