Civil society groups, alongside Government representatives, are ensuring a strong connection between the Caribbean and the continent of Africa.
One such organisation is the Pan African Network.
Barbados’ Ambassador to CARICOM, David Comissiong, who is also the Chair of the organisation says African countries recognise the diaspora in the Caribbean as its sixth region and have reached out to build ties.
He was a guest on the Conversation on CARICOM segment of CBC TV8’s Mornin’ Barbados.
A Global-Africa People-To-People virtual forum is also planned for Thursday in recognition of the years of partnership.
Ambassador Comissiong says a range of topics will be tackled.
