Boys’ under-18 top seed Xavier Hastick went one step further than last year’s performance when he finished as the runner-up, by securing the National under-18 singles tennis title this year with a commanding victory over second-seeded Aidan Clarke at 6-2, 6-2.
The match was played at the tennis centre in Wildey.
The boys’ under-14 singles final also saw the top seed prevail, as Zane Kirton took down second seed Travis Licorish 6-2, 6-love.
