Increase in children diagnosed with autism

Within the last two years, there has been an increase in children being diagnosed with autism.

The revelation from Chief Education Officer Dr Ramona Archer-Bradshaw, as education officials joined members of the National Task Force on Literacy Education for a service at the Western Light Church of the Nazarene.
Dr. Archer Bradshaw tells reporters her Ministry is working with the Ministry of Health to help diagnose children with autism earlier.

The Chief Education Officer says they have realised emphasis needs to be placed on pre-primary school learning and that will be a focal point starting this September.
