Shooting victim identified

The deceased in today’s shooting incident in Hill Road, Gall Hill, Christ Church has been formally identified by Police.

He is 27-year-old Dominic Yarde of St. Patricks, Christ Church.

Police say the incident occurred around 9:15 a.m.

They say the now deceased was the lone occupant of a vehicle which he was driving along Hill Road, when he was attacked by a lone gunman. As he attempted to drive away, his vehicle collided with two another vehicles and overturned.

The assailant continued firing shots before fleeing the scene.

Residents tried to assist by pulling Yarde out of the vehicle but he passed away at the scene. He was later pronounced dead at the scene by a medical doctor.

No one else was injured in the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
