The Department of Emergency Management (DEM) is adopting a hands-on approach to getting the message of disaster preparedness out to young Barbadians.
Through its summer youth event – “High Winds, Rough Seas” – it will be exposing youth to literature and information that programme officer, Simon Alleyne says could be life-saving. That event is slated for August 30th at Queens Park in Bridgetown.
Mr. Alleyne, who was a guest on CBC TV 8’s Mornin’ Barbados, added that the DEM is excelling more at its public awareness activities.
