The Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation was in winners row, copping two awards at the 35th Caribbean Media Awards.

Myles Eversley, Joshua Hinkson and Sherwood McCaskie captured the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre’s Best Climate Change Documentary Award for their production, “Info Insight: Rum and Sargassum”.

The Financial Literacy Journalism Television Award went to Stacey Russell for her item “NewsPulse Episode 4: Financial Health with Exchange Museum”.

Ms. Russell also received a special mention in the Best Television Producer category.

That award however was secured by Khadene Foote of RJR Gleaner Communications Group in Jamaica.

The awards were collected on the winners’ behalf by CBC’s Jo-anne Sealy.

The Government Information Service along with Starcom Network also copped awards during the ceremony in Belize.

President of the CBU, Dr. Claire Grant says the awards come at a time when there are concerns about the many challenges to human content producers from artificial intelligence.

She says the awards showcase the best of Caribbean media content.
