Gov’t to establish 100 youth groups

Government is seeking to start 100 youth groups.

This announcement is coming from Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment Charles Griffith who says the Barbados Youth Development Council will be responsible for guiding them.

Mr. Griffith spoke about the plans to establish the new groups during the ribbon cutting ceremony for the BYDC and CARICOM Youth Ambassadors’ Space, at Sky Mall, Haggatt Hall, St. Michael.

He adds the 55-year-old Council being housed at the Ministry will redound to the benefit of the island’s youth.

Visitors to the Ministry will also be treated to new signage. Minister Griffith says the new signs, placed in various areas, will encourage young people to feel empowered when they visit.
