Police identify man killed in shooting

The Barbados Police Service has provided an update on a fatal shooting which occurred at Cutting Road, St. Michael.

20-year-old Amar O’Brien Douglas, of Dash Valley, St. George, lost his life during that shooting incident which occurred around 1 p.m. today

They said in a press release that a group of men “were liming on a block area known as “Camp Survival,” located near the said Cutting Road, when a motorcar drove up, and two men alighted and opened fire, causing the crowd to scatter. The now-deceased was hit and fell to the ground.

“He was transported by a private motor vehicle to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical officials. His death is the 28th homicide of the year.

“Police appealed to anyone who has witnessed or has any knowledge about this incident or the perpetrators involved to contact the District A Police Station at 4307242 Crime Stoppers – 1 800 8477 (TIPS) or Police Emergency-211.”
