Top Barbados Swimmer Jack Kirby, finished third this morning in his heat of the men’s 100-meter freestyle repping the 246 at the Paris Olympic Games.

Kirby swam in heat five, where he clocked 50.42 seconds, which was slower than his entry time of 49.31 seconds.

However, Kirby didn’t advance to the semifinals.

Meanwhile, Matthew Wright will hopefully compete in the Men’s triathlon tomorrow, after today’s attempt was abandoned.

The men’s triathlon was postponed after tests revealed the water in the River Seine was not clean enough for the swimming leg to take place.

The race is now set to take place tomorrow at 4:45 am, following the conclusion of the women’s triathlon.

Officials say there’s a 60% chance of the event taking place in the morning.

Friday, August 2 remains a back-up date, while organisers say the event could be contested as a duathlon – with just the cycling and running legs.
