The Pan American Health Organisation is targeting the elimination of leprosy in Barbados and the eastern Caribbean.
Barbados has a lone case under treatment and St. Lucia has 11.
Advisor for Health Surveillance, Disease Prevention and Control Dr. Prabhjot Singh says PAHO and the World Health Organisation offer free leprosy treatment to all countries in the world.
Dr. Singh says there is absolutely no need for panic because the disease is not so easily transmitted.
