Barbadian two-time world bronze medalist Sada Williams will join swimmer Jack Kirby as the second flagbearer for team Barbados at the opening ceremony of the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The exclusive announcement was made during Sunday’s ‘The People’s Business’ talk show on CBC TV8 by Senior Office Administrator at the Barbados Olympic Association, Gail Craig-Archer.
Williams, the reigning Commonwealth Games champion and record holder will compete in the women’s 400-metre event and is the island’s biggest medal hope at the games.
Barbados will also be represented by triathlete Matthew Wright who’s already in Europe, along with sprinter Tristan Evelyn.
Both Kirby and Evelyn arrived in Europe on Sunday.
The Paris 2024 Olympics will be aired live on TV8 from July 26 to August 12.
