Barbados Royals Girls Cricket Club are the beneficiaries of cricket kits, compliments of the ‘DP World Beyond the Boundaries Cricket World Cup Initiative’.
The presentation of a specially painted container and equipment was made on Thursday at the club’s Friendship training base in St. Michael.
It was unveiled by West Indies legend Chris Gayle and the Chief Commercial Officer at the International Cricket Council, Anurag Dahiya.
The repurposed container will also serve as a changing room.
During the recently concluded T-20 World Cup, every 100 runs scored meant that 10 kits would be donated by ‘DP World’ to grassroots cricket.
The company is a leading global provider of Smart End-to-End Supply Chain Solutions, and the President of the Barbados Royals Girls Club, Roland Butcher, says the donation will go a long way to boost the sport.
The CCO of the International Cricket Council said the kits are vital to the sport’s survival.
Cricket icon and West Indies legend Chris Gayle told the members of the club to cherish the donation.
