Left-handed batter Kyle Mayers has been approved as a replacement for Brandon King in the West Indies’ squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
King was ruled out due to a side strain, which he suffered in the West Indies’ match against England in St. Lucia on Wednesday night.
Mayers, who has played in 37 T20Is, is expected to join the squad on Saturday.
Any replacement of a player in the tournament requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee, which consists of ICC General Manager – Cricket, Wasim Khan; ICC Head of Events Chris Tetley; Cricket West Indies CEO Johnny Grave; and Independent Representative Kass Naidoo.
