The Barbados Workers Union has told a high level international labour conference, the trust gap between states and citizens along with employers and employees is widening worldwide.
BWU General Secretary Toni Moore says the experience of COVID-19 also exposed further social and economic inequalities within and between countries.
Ms. Moore suggests a need for course correction.
She was addressing the ongoing plenary debates at the 112th International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland.
Ms. Moore says the solidarity seen during COVID-19 is no more, as she notes workers on the front line feel more isolated and forgotten.
