Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the unnatural death of a 29-year-old male prisoner who was found unresponsive within the prisoner’s cells at the Central Police Station Bridgetown, St. Michael.
The Barbados Police Service noted in a press release that, “police personnel on duty around 7:35 a.m. on Sunday 9th June 2024 were making their regulation prisoner cell checks when the individual was discovered motionless, an ambulance was summoned but none were available at that time, a medical doctor was summoned who arrived and pronounced him dead whilst at the scene.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
A family member identified the deceased man as Kemo Grant of Grazettes Main Road, St. Michael.
