Ireland were left on the brink of elimination from the T20 World Cup after they slumped to a 12-run defeat to tournament debutants Canada.
Player of the Match and Barbados-born Nicholas Kirton’s knock of 49 helped Canada post a respectable 137 for seven, the highest score so far at the Nassau County Stadium in New York.
Although George Dockrell and Mark Adair gave Ireland a faint hope with a stand of 62 for the sixth wicket, they fell short on 125 for seven.
We’ll analyse this match and tomorrow’s Windies versus Uganda in our nightly World Cup show – The Final Over – at 8:03 tonight on TV8.
