South Africa opened their ICC Men’s T-20 Cricket World Cup campaign with a six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka this morning at the Nassau County Stadium in New York.
In a low-scoring group “D” Affair, Sri Lanka won the toss and was bundled out for their lowest-ever T-20 international total of 77.
Pacer Anrich Nortje was the pick of the bowlers with a historic spell of four for seven – the best figures by a South African bowler at the T-20 World Cup.
The Proteas then reached 80 for four in 16.2 overs.
