Finally the day has come, as cricket ventures into uncharted territory tonight with the first ever major tournament to be staged in the United States – the opening match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
The historic event begins with the USA taking on Canada at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
While the bulk of the tournament will be played in the Caribbean, 16 group stage games in the 20-team tournament will be played on American soil.
Speaking ahead of tonight’s opening clash, America’s Vice Captain Aaron Jones says they are determined to play a fearless brand of cricket.
Canada’s skipper Saad Bin Zafar says it is indeed an emotional venture for them.
The first ball is set to be bowled at 8:30 tonight with live coverage on MCTV’s ESPN channel and on radio 94.7FM.
Just before that, CBC TV8 will preview that game and also tomorrow morning’s Windies vs PNG fixture on our World Cup show “The Final Over”.
You, the viewers, can join the show via phone or by posting on our WhatsApp and YouTube social media pages.
“The Final Over” analysis show begins at 8:00 p.m.
